Role Purpose
As a Youth Committee Member for Thornhill & upper Cwmbran, you will play an important role in shaping your local community through Torfaen’s Participatory Budgeting (PB) project, Communities Choice. You will help ensure that funding is allocated to projects that truly reflect the priorities and needs of local residents, particularly the youth. By sharing your ideas and perspectives, you will contribute to fair and transparent decision-making while empowering your peers to make a real impact in Thornhill and upper Cwmbran.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend monthly committee meetings to review funding applications and discuss community priorities.
- Evaluate project proposals and provide feedback to support the selection process.
- Participate in local engagement events to promote the PB project and encourage other young people to get involved.
- Collaborate with fellow committee members and the PB Communities Choice Coordinator to identify and address key community issues.
- Monitor funded projects to ensure they are delivered as intended and provide feedback for future improvements.
