Two free 6-week online mindfulness courses are available to residents of Monmouthshire, Caerphilly, Newport, Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent, The Present and Mindfulness for Everyday. No previous experience of mindfulness is required to attend either course and both are open access.

What’s the point in learning about mindfulness? How can it help?
Practicing mindfulness regularly has lots of benefits including managing stress, coping better with serious illness and reducing anxiety and depression. It can also improve focus, creativity, memory, the immune system, lower blood pressure and can help manage pain.
About the courses:
Both courses focus on how to bring mindfulness into everyday life.
The Present:
An interactive 6-week course in meeting format on Zoom where attendees are encouraged to participate in mindfulness practices and group discussions around weekly themes, “here and now”, “focusing attention”, “the body”, “the mind”, “connection” and “choice and change”.
Mindfulness for Everyday:
An interactive 6-week course in webinar format on Zoom with cameras and microphones switched off for attendees and optional use of the chat texting feature. Attendees are encouraged to participate in mindfulness practices and only join the chat if comfortable. Topics covered include, Awareness, Acceptance, Non-resistance, Non-judgment and Unhelpful thinking habits.
