Expectations - we need people who are honest, polite to customers and colleagues, enthusiastic, presentable (dress and hygiene), not scared of computers, and turn up when they have agreed to turn up. Apart from that we’re pretty flexible in our expectations of volunteers.
Everyone gets a basic induction, after which training is on-the-job, working alongside more experienced team members until the volunteer feels confident in their chosen role.
Working alongside staff and volunteers- member of staff always in the building.
Role 1: Admin- scanning, shredding, filing, data entry, printing, document preparation, mailouts.
Role 2: Customer service- Cash handling, face to face service, phone service, dealing with enquiries, helping members to complete paperwork.
Role 3: Loans team (experience needed in budgeting/ personal finance) Loan assessment, credit checks, and customer service.
Role 4: Internal Audit- member of the volunteer team who check all transactions. Finance aptitude and preferably experience. Eye for detail.
