Community Engagement & Development
Torfaen Talks CIC is a not-for-profit organisation, that’s committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of the people of Torfaen. This includes three key strands - Mental health & wellbeing support, Community Podcast and Wellbeing training and Workshops
- Pay what you can counselling support run by volunteers and coordinated, assessed and assigned by qualified counsellors.
- Well-being group activities (e.g. men's mental health group & LGBTQ+ groups), with the aim of increasing mental health resilience and reducing loneliness.
- Weekly mental health & wellbeing drop-in sessions with the aim of providing advice, guidance, and social prescribing.
- Regular monthly podcast to adopt the NHS 5 Ways to Wellbeing, to increase the overall wellness of the community. Sharing information of the services being offered and hearing local voices.
- Workshops on learning about mental health, for example one off workshops on Anxiety, Depression, Anger, etc. Courses on Mental health, including the delivery of Mental Health First Aid Wales.
