Community Engagement & Development

Torfaen Talks CIC is a not-for-profit organisation, that’s committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of the people of Torfaen. This includes three key strands - Mental health & wellbeing support, Community Podcast and Wellbeing training and Workshops

Pay what you can counselling support (for over 18’s) run by volunteers and coordinated, assessed and assigned by qualified counsellors.
Well-being group activities (e.g. men's mental health group & LGBTQ+ groups), with the aim of increasing mental health resilience and reducing loneliness.
Weekly mental health & wellbeing drop-in sessions with the aim of providing advice, guidance, and social prescribing.
Regular monthly podcast to adopt the NHS 5 Ways to Wellbeing, to increase the overall wellness of the community. Sharing information of the services being offered and hearing local voices.
Workshops on learning about mental health, for example one off workshops on Anxiety, Depression, Anger, etc. Courses on Mental health, including the delivery of subsidised Mental Health First Aid.
