MBACT, Monmouthshire, Brecon, Abagavenny Canal Trust are looking for Volunteers to complement the teams already set up.
One team named Regeneration is based at Ty Coch where we have our main workshop and Training room.
The second team named Cwmbran Group has been newly formed to carry out maintenance work on the canal from Five Locks Pontnewydd to Cwmbran Retail park, side of B&Q parallel to the A4051.
The work will consist of working to keep the sections of canal free of Vegetation and the rubbish such as trolleys that get thrown in it all too often.
Work will be planned in advance, all Safety equipment and tools will be provided as will all necessary training.
We have a Crew/Welfare bus which will be used to transport equipment and Volunteers to the various worksites. The bus has facilities to eat our lunches and a WC. we also have arrangements with buisnesses along the route to use their facilities as required.
All you need is to provide your own lunch, a stout pair of boots, and a desire to work as part of a great team to enhance our beautiful canal system.
