We are a local branch of the RSPCA. We were previously known as RSPCA Gwent and Brecknock Branch before merging with RSPCA Glamorgan North and East Branch and therefore becoming RSPCA Wyth Sir Branch. This new name translates to eight counties which is the new area we cover, consisting of; Blaenau Gwent, torfaen, Monmouth, Newport RTC, Merthyr Tydfil, South Powys and Caerphilly. Wyth Sir are raising money locally to support our animal welfare work. Our branch is run by a committee of seven locally elected volunteers who are responsible for the management and administration of the branch's affairs. We have been in existence since 1896, helping animals for over 125 years.
We help the public in multiple different ways including; our welfare voucher scheme (financial aid for local people on benefits struggling to pay their verterinary bills), giving advice and information both over the phone and in person, our Animal Welfare Officers doing home visits, cat rehoming and selling goods in our charity shops to raise money so we can continue our mission in helping local animals.
Member of Torfaen Voluntary Alliance.
