- Support communities to become sustainable, empowered and prosperous
- Provide opportunities for people to improve their health
- Encouraging social inclusion
- Improving people’s access to learning opportunities, qualifications and training
- Deliver efficient and effective waste and recycling
- Support people and communities to engage in positive activities
OUR VISION
Community Engagement is the heart of our work – our vision is to drive forward sustainability, to plan, build and maintain our communities to improve the quality of life for everyone.
We have an amazing Employability Programme which provides valuable work placement opportunities and as such we act as a training and skills enhancement centre for locally unemployed people. Most of which have mental health issues, learning difficulties and or physical disabilities. We collaboratively work with Communities First, Careers Wales and Job Centre plus.
Additionally, we also operate Torfaen's largest reuse and recycling project Circulate Furniture Recycling - based in Blaenavon.
Circulate Furniture Recycling deliver a re-use and recycling enterprise not only to drive forward a clean and green Torfaen but a project to alleviate material poverty of the poorest and most disadvantage members of our community. Waste minimisation is a huge and wonderful benefit of our work and addressing social need and inequalities is core to our delivery.
The project collects unwanted household goods from within the community and distributes back out to people on low incomes. All our operations are compliant with EU Health and safety practices and staff are trained in PAT testing to ensure electrical safety of all WEEE.
The project hosts as a training and education centre, offering a wide range of volunteering opportunities and hosting community placements for those who are considered furthest away from the labour market. We provide valuable on the job work experience to build their confidence and help them gain the skills they need to make them work ready.
"Circulate proves that re-use organisations can generate stability and social cohesion during turbulent times."
"With a mission to reduce waste, alleviate furniture poverty; create employment opportunities and help people develop new skills"
