  1. Warm Hubs: These are safe, heated spaces available across Torfaen where people can gather to stay warm, especially if they are struggling with heating costs. These hubs offer not only warmth but also a place to connect with others in the community. Opening Doors Hubs offer enhanced support for residents, such as access to advice on housing, financial management, and other critical services. 

  2. Coffee Mornings: Held regularly, coffee mornings provide an opportunity for social interaction and community bonding. They’re perfect for those looking to meet new people, reduce isolation, and enjoy a warm drink in a friendly environment.

  3. Community Lunches: Bringing residents together over a nutritious meal, community lunches offer both sustenance and companionship. They are particularly helpful for those facing food insecurity or simply seeking a social setting during the winter months.

  4. Heating and Energy Assistance: Practical advice on managing energy bills, along with information on grants and government schemes, helps residents keep their homes warm and energy-efficient.

  5. Financial and Welfare Support: Resources for managing financial pressures, including guidance on accessing local food banks, benefits, and other financial assistance programs.

  6. Health and Well-being Support: Tips for staying healthy during winter, avoiding seasonal illnesses, and accessing local health services as needed.

The campaign is a collaboration between local councils, charities, and community organisations to ensure that everyone in Torfaen has the support they need to stay warm, well-fed, and connected.
