Wheelchair Rugby League is one of the most inclusive sports available, making it suitable for both those who are able-bodied, as well as those who are disabled. You don't need to be a wheelchair user, or even have a disability to play, allowing families, friends and colleagues to enjoy a sport, together, regardless of their ability or disability. We welcome you to our training sessions on a Friday evening to come and have a look at what it's all about. IT's rugby league, but in a wheelchair!
Where and When to Find Us
You can find us at Pontypool Active Living Centre every Friday, 7pm until 9pm.We're always on the lookout for new players and helpers and would welcome you to visit us if you're interested to learn more, or just fancy watching Wheelchair Rugby League in action.
Who can play?
Wheelchair Rugby League is an inclusive sport, meaning you can play regardless of whether you use a wheelchair or not.
Do I need a wheelchair to play?
Our club supplies wheelchairs for our players, although you are welcome to use your own sports wheelchair if you wish. It does have to meet a set standard, but we can check this for you.
Is there a cost?
We want to remove as many barriers as possible - your first 4 sessions are completely free. We do have a monthly sub after this, but if you're not able to pay due to your circumstances, please let us know. We have discretion to put things in place to ensure you can still enjoy this sport.
