Volunteering Opportunity - Work Party **Sunday 23rd February 2025 ** We’re SO grateful to our members that give up their spare time to help with activities like our work parties and our events. It’s simple, we couldn’t do it without you. Groups like ours depend on their volunteers ?? Have you ever thought about volunteering? Are you a little unsure about what to expect? Why not come along to our next work party on Sunday 9th February to see what it’s all about, even if it’s just to say hello ? We will be meeting at 09.30 in Five Locks car park, (What3Words - tummy/chill/bless) where we will then take a short walk to Lock 60, which is on the Five Locks flight (What3Words - organs/puzzle/legal). This work party will last for approximately 2 hours. We intend to clean up the stones at the edges of the lock chamber, removing the sod, and any saplings that maybe causing issues. We will also carry out a litterpick in this area. (The Lock chambers will NOT be entered at any time). Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits will be provided half way through the session. If you are attending by motor vehicle, we ask that you use Five Locks car park. If there are no spaces available and you have to park along Five Locks Close itself, please be considerate to local residents and refrain from obstructing any driveways. Please wear sensible clothing, remembering this is a work party. All tools and equipment will be provided. * Permission has been sought from TCBC to carry out this work on their land. ** Weather permitting *** Volunteers aged 16 or under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. We are looking forward to meeting you ?
