Warm Space Hubs
Warm Space Hubs in Torfaen
As energy bills rise and many households feel the pressure, Torfaen has set up a network of Warm Space Hubs across the borough. These are welcoming places where anyone can come to stay warm, chat, enjoy a hot drink (and sometimes a meal), and access advice and support.
Key features include:
-
Libraries in Blaenavon, Cwmbran and Pontypool are open during their normal hours as warm spaces
-
Panteg House in Griffithstown hosts a Warm Welcome every Wednesday morning (10am–12pm) with free hot food and drink, plus support from the Torfaen Employability Team
-
Community-led hubs—such as at Fairhill Methodist Church and the Widdershins Centre offer warm drinks, meals or snacks, friendly company, games, and sometimes services like Wi-Fi or advice on benefits and energy.
These hubs are more than just a warm room. They help reduce isolation, provide a safe space during cold spells, and connect people to further support if needed. For full listings, times, and what each hub offers contact Torfaen Council
