Pride can only happen thanks to the dedication and commitment from amazing people like you. We’ve been humbled by all of the offers of support in the lead up to the event and now it’s time to seek your support for the big day itself!
Due to the nature of the event and the requirement to lay out the site prior to its start and closing it down once the public have left, we need to ensure there are adequate volunteers between the hours of 8am and 8pm.
We are looking for a number of people to help us:
- Set up the site in the morning before the event starts (erecting gazebos and decking them out, directing traders and entertainment) as well as closing the event down
- Manning the Site HQ - selling raffle tickets, responding to attendee enquiries, leading acts to mains stage etc
- Patrolling the site greeting every attendee with a hello as minimum, distributing Torfaen Pride Stickers. Checking toilets, moving any discarded litter to correct recycling bins, bucket collections, supporting the security and stewarding team as required
- Supporting the backstage team to support the smooth running of the stage
We are also looking for dedicated people to oversee specific areas such as backstage, the site HQ, and the (TBC) parade.
We have created 4 different shift patterns of 4 hours each to ensure that volunteers are not required to be on duty all day, although anyone that can volunteer for more than 4 hours will be very welcome!
Proposed shifts include:
08:00 to 12:00 (pre-pride for set-up)
12:00 to 16:00
14:00 to 18:00
16:00 to 20:00 (this may need to be extended due to closing down site)
Though ultimately, these shift patterns are reliant on securing enough volunteers for each shift on the day.
For more information and/or to volunteer, please send an email to pridevolunteers@torfaenpride.co.uk remember to include your availability on the day
