We are thrilled to announce the opening of Rainbow Care Group Monmouthshire, a brand-new, community-based dementia day service serving the Monmouthshire and Torfaen areas. At Rainbow Care, we do care differently. Our model is built on person‑centred care, independent living, and meaningful connection, offered within a warm, welcoming community setting, not a clinical institution. Our mission is simple: to ensure individuals living with dementia are placed at the heart of everything we do. At each club, care plans are tailored to the individual, based on their interests, life stories, and abilities, not defined by a diagnosis. We see the person, not the condition. That means choosing activities they enjoy, like reminiscence workshops, art and craft, gentle exercise, music and themed days, quizzes and mental stimulation games, even day trips, designed so everyone can participate and thrive in a supportive environment. Our small group format (typically 10–12 people per day) plus a high staff‑to‑client ratio (1:4) ensures each attendee receives personal attention whether in a group activity or one-to-one support. Staff are specialist-trained in dementia awareness, safeguarding, first aid, and moving & handling, allowing attendees to live safely and with dignity. Carers can enjoy a full day of respite, knowing their loved one is engaging in stimulating activities in a safe, friendly setting. It offers the breathing space families and unpaid carers so often need to rest, to run errands, or simply to pause. Even more than a day service, we are all about supporting independence and quality of life. Attendees stay connected with their community and social groups, continue doing things they love, and experience purpose and belonging. Our focus is always on choices and abilities, promoting dignity and inclusion in all we do. Even more than a day service, we are all about supporting independence and quality of life.
