The Museum Guide is responsible for welcoming visitors, providing informative tours, and helping visitors engage with the museum’s exhibits. This role ensures that visitors have a positive, educational, and enjoyable experience while learning about Blaenavon’s history and heritage.
Key Tasks
- Welcome and greet visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide guided tours of the museum, explaining exhibits, artefacts, and historical context.
- Answer questions from visitors, providing accurate and engaging information. Support educational activities and workshops for schools or community groups.
- Ensure visitor safety and monitor conduct in galleries and exhibition areas. Assist with special events, temporary exhibitions, or themed tours.
- Collect visitor feedback to help improve the museum experience.
- Work alongside other volunteers and staff to maintain a welcoming and informative environment.
- Promote museum membership, events, and activities where appropriate.
