Let's face it, this is quite a lot of us! Mindfulness Wales is exploring new and innivative ways to bring mindfulness to people who could really benefit. Join us online on Wednesday 10th July at 7pm to find out more or visit our website to see some of our other explorations and presntations https://mindfulness-wales.org
Mindful self-care for healthcare staff and others working in high stress environments.
Join us to hear about the mindful self-care programme. This six-week course,
developed by Maura Kenny for health care staff, offers a time-friendly introduction to
mindfulness and compassionate self-care.
The evening will offer opportunities to join in some of the practices from the
programme and to hear about the experience of teaching it within different contexts;
we will share research demonstrating the programme’s effectiveness and speak
about its potential across different contexts.
The event will be facilitated by Sarah Millband and Bridgette O’Neill.
Sarah Millband is a psychotherapist, mindfulness teacher, trainer and supervisor.
She teaches mindfulness within the NHS for patients, medical students and clinical
staff and in the voluntary sector for staff and volunteers, for carers and through social
prescribing partnerships. Sarah lives in South Wales and teaches the Mindful Self-
Care Programme in health and social care settings for the Centre for Mindfulness
Research and Practice at Bangor University.
Bridgette O’Neill is a senior lecturer with the Centre for Mindfulness Research and
Practice at Bangor University. Bridgette has taught mindfulness-based approaches in
NHS mental health services for staff and clients since 2002. She is currently co-
ordinating the delivery of the mindful self-care programme in different settings.
