Hello Marauders ☀️☀️☀️ On the 11th May we are at The Wenallt or Coed Y Wenallt. The red sandstone slopes of this area are home to several woods which are easily reached from Cardiff. Coed y Wenallt is a 44 hectare area of designated ancient woodland which is also a SSSI. There is a great variety of bird and other wildlife. You could consider yourself unlucky if you didn't at least hear a Great Spotted Woodpecker, particularly in springtime when the sea of bluebells provides a visual treat. There are two car parks but the lower car park is the best option. It can be quite muddy after rain so as usual wear good boots and weather appropriate clothing. Here are directions for the lower car park - I’m sharing a what3words address to help you find this specific location.
