Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of women and children affected by domestic abuse/trauma? Due to the development of current volunteers we have opportunities throughout our services. Volunteers offer much needed emotional support and practical help to survivors of domestic abuse and trauma, enabling them to a live a life free from fear and abuse.
Time Commitment Roughly 2-3 hours every week or fortnight. This could be more depending on your availability. How you can help To offer additional support to women and families supported by Llamau. Help build their self-esteem, self-confidence and emotional well-being. This will assist them in developing healthy relationships and pursuits which in the longer term will support their transition towards independence.
Possible Tasks:
• Encourage Women and families to participate within activities in their community.
• Encourage Women to access employment, training and volunteering.
• Accompany Women and families people to activities including; cinema, gym, walks,
• Accompany young people to appointments i.e.- medical, benefits.
• Share your skills and interests with the women ie-sport, craft, music.
• Support women to share their plans and goals. What we can offer you

• Specialist sector training including Domestic abuse awareness, Domestic abuse and the impact on children.
• Regular support and supervision from our volunteer coordinator including career development planning.
• Opportunities to volunteer in all areas of the service including; Domestic abuse group work, Refuge, women’s projects, community settings, court support and administration/office.
