Role Purpose
The Content Creator Volunteer supports the storytelling and visibility of Idy Butt by capturing high-quality photos and short videos at community events, talks, workshops and fundraising activities. This role helps document the impact of our work, raise awareness and share our story across our website and social media channels. The role is ideal for someone creative, reliable and passionate about community-focused work.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture photos and short-form video content at events, workshops, talks and community activities.
- Edit and prepare content suitable for website and social media use.
- Work with the team to understand key moments, messaging and storytelling priorities.
- Ensure content is inclusive, respectful and reflects the organisation’s values.
- Support safe and ethical content capture, including consent where required.
- Organise and share content files in agreed formats and timelines.
- Help contribute ideas for visual storytelling and community engagement.
- Represent the organisation professionally when attending events.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Interest in photography, videography and visual storytelling.
- Good communication and ability to work with people in community settings.
- Reliable and able to attend agreed events or activities.
- Basic editing skills (mobile apps or editing software).
- Understanding of respectful and inclusive content capture.
Desirable
- Experience capturing events, community work or social impact projects.
- Experience creating content for social media platforms.
- Access to own camera or video equipment (not essential if equipment is provided).
- Basic knowledge of branding or visual storytelling.
