We’re looking for a passionate and organised individual to help coordinate and manage our thriving community garden located beside the hall. This is a hands-on volunteer role ideal for someone who enjoys gardening, working with others, and making a real difference in the community.
Our garden project is already up and running – produce grown will be sold within the hall. Volunteers are always welcome to get involved, and we’re open to support from individuals both in and outside of Ponthir.
Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinate day-to-day activities in the community garden
· Support and supervise garden volunteers
· Plan and manage planting, growing, and harvesting cycles
· Organise produce for sale in the hall. · Maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all volunteers
· Help promote the project locally and encourage community involvement
What We’re Looking For:
· Enthusiasm for growing food and sustainability
· Good organisational and people skills
· Some experience in gardening or food growing (helpful but not essential)
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· A welcoming attitude towards volunteers from all backgrounds and locations
