This role is particularly suited to individuals with lived experience of stroke – whether as a survivor, carer, or family member – who feel passionate about helping others and raising awareness in their community. As an Activities Support Volunteer, you’ll help create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for people affected by stroke. This hands-on role involves supporting group activities, preparing the space, chatting with attendees, serving refreshments, and helping tidy up. It’s a great opportunity for anyone who enjoys helping others, being social, and making a positive difference.
Key Responsibilities
• Helping set up the venue (arranging chairs/tables, materials, signage, etc.).
• Welcoming attendees and helping them feel comfortable.
• Chatting and listening to group members in a friendly, supportive way.
• Assisting with group activities – this might include games, crafts, light exercise, or guest speakers.
• Serving tea, coffee, and light refreshments.
• Helping to tidy up after sessions
