Financial Support to families in crisis, we can help with household items, energy, budgeting and access to grants

The Advice and Crisis team are able to assist Individuals and Families to maximise their income and to make better financial decisions.  We can provide support to access grants for essential items and emergency cash, assist with money management to help prioritise bills and plan purchases.  Look at opportunities to start saving as well as signpost or refer you to local services and charities that are able to provide household items for free or at minimal cost.

  • Deliver Financial Capability Workshops in the local community.
  • Look at your Income and Expenditure to help manage surplus and maximise your income.
  • Assist households to make informed financial choices.
  • Provide information and referrals to food share within Torfaen.
  • Support with Grants/Benefits such as Welsh Water Assist/Discretionary Assistance Fund/rent arrears and payment plans/Utility arrears.
  • Bespoke support available to all Torfaen residents.
  • Support residents to contact DWP, Citizens Advice or other appropriate services
