Canddo Scarecrow Event Panteg House, Griffithstown.
Canddo are hosting a Scarecrow event and you are invited.
There are 8 places up for offer at the event, you will be allocated a plot for your creation to be shown from Thursday October 31st 2024 till November 5th 2024.
All scarecrow creations must be transported to Canddo at Panteg House by 30th October to be displayed for 31st.
The Canddo project will provide a 6ft frame to show off your creativity.
An event map will be drawn up, we would like both a team name and a scarecrow name for voting, (ie: team name - PTA schools team, scarecrow name – Terrible Trev)
Entry to the event is limited to 8 and there is a fee of £5.00 to enter.
The event will have an open voting process by the local community by means of event voting slips at 50p each where funds allow.
Voting will be open from 4pm on the 31st oct and close at 2pm on the 5th nov,
Prizes.
Prizes will be dictated from the public vote and awarded on the 5th nov at Panteg House main building 4pm to the teams or teams allocated representative’s
*in the event of joint / shared positions Canddo will cast the deciding vote to determine the wining positions.

Scarecrows can take on any form, character, traditional or reinvented, string lights, pumpkins etc but we would like to minimise the use of plastic where possible. We will try to source Straw and sticks and make them available to teams from the social garden within Panteg House grounds.
Canddo will take photographs during the event and post on social media, if you do not wish to be included, please make a member of staff aware.
At the event.
The event will run from 31st to 5th during which time community members will be invited to follow the map (dusk would be eerie) around the grounds finishing at the main house.
Each scarecrow will be marked on the map and it is the participants job to find them.
Participants will vote on the map which scarecrow they positioned 1st, 2nd and 3rd (votes counted on the 5th to determine winning positions).
Map / vote slips should be left at the house and where possible a suggested 50p donation to accompany the slips in the honesty box.
100% of funds made from the event will go back to the Canddo project – The Canddo project is a Not for profit Social enterprise promoting wellbeing and combating loneliness.
