Role Purpose
The Pottery Group Lead is responsible for planning and delivering engaging pottery sessions for participants, fostering creativity, skill development, and social connection. The role supports individuals of all abilities to explore pottery in a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment, promoting wellbeing and confidence through hands-on art activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and deliver pottery sessions tailored to participants’ abilities and interests.
- Demonstrate techniques and provide guidance to help participants develop skills.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained studio space, following health and safety procedures.
- Encourage creativity, participation, and social interaction among group members.
- Support volunteers or assistants helping with sessions, providing guidance as needed.
- Promote a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that values all participants.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in pottery or ceramics and the ability to teach basic to intermediate techniques.
- Good organisational and planning skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and empathy.
- Awareness of health and safety in a creative environment.
- Experience working with groups, volunteers, or community participants is desirable.
