The Treasurer plays a vital role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of Age Connects Torfaen. As a member of the Board of Trustees, the Treasurer oversees financial matters in line with good practice and legal requirements, helping to safeguard the organisation’s assets and support its work to improve the lives of older people in Torfaen.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the financial affairs of Age Connects Torfaen and ensure they are legal, constitutional, and within accepted accounting practice.
• Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures are in place.
• Monitor and report on the financial health of the organisation.
• Work with the CEO/Manager to prepare and present budgets, accounts, and financial statements.
• Ensure that appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place.
• Liaise with independent examiners/auditors on annual accounts.
• Ensure that financial reports are comprehensible and informative for trustees and stakeholders.
• Advise on the financial implications of the organisation’s strategic plans and decisions.
• Contribute to the development and review of financial policies and risk management processes
